Some Common First Signs of Pregnancy
Some women experience no first signs of pregnancy whatsoever in the early weeks of pregnancy. So the only sure way to confirm pregnancy is either through a home pregnancy test or a test from her doctor. If you are a women to experience early symptoms, here’s a list of what your first signs will likely be. - A feeling that something is just “different.” You know your body better than anyone else and you know what feels normal and what doesn’t. Some women will start to feel that something has changed within the first week or two of conception. I’ve even know women who “just know” the morning after conception!
- Breast soreness / tenderness. This is a very common first sign of pregnancy. Even just a gentle bump against something can cause intense pain!
- Nausea. For a few women, unexpected nausea / pregnancy sickness can occur within a couple of weeks after conception. For others, this may not start until the 2nd month and for others still, it may never happen at all.
- Implantation Bleeding. This is not your regular menstrual period. It’s usually light spotting that can happen even before your regular period is due. Cramping can also accompany this first sign of pregnancy.
- Unusual Headaches. These headaches are brought on by a change in hormones and can be quite severe – lasting throughout the pregnancy for some.
- Missing your usual menstrual period. For women who have regular menstrual periods, a common first sign of pregnancy is not having this period at all.

Unfortunately, every symptom and experience is not the same for every woman. So I have nothing concrete to offer you. But these are the most common first signs of pregnancy and I hope they will be helpful to you.
