Do you need some
real parenting advice? Are you wondering if your toddler's tantrums are normal or just need some encouragement to keep you going?
Well the web is loaded with sites about parenting and the “right” and “wrong” way to go about it. (Let's face it, there's not always a right and wrong way). Many of these sites are written by "experts."
Do these proclaimed “experts” really know what they’re talking about?
I mean, some of these parenting advice-givers have never even parented a child! They've never dealt with potty training or crayon on the wall or had a child pull the fire alarm in a public building (yes, that's happened to me)!
I'm sorry, but you can't give meaningful advice on something you've never experienced (when you've never been down in these poop-filled trenches) no matter how many fancy letters are at the end of your name!
So if I’m not an “expert”, what qualifies ME to give YOU this real parenting advice? I’ll admit, I don’t have a PhD in Child Development, (or any other PhD for that matter).
My greatest credential is that I am a stay-at-home mother of five children. They range in age from 1 - 9 years old. Day to day experience with them has taught me much more than any book or class could have prepared me for.
real-parenting-advice.com is dedicated to bringing you just that, REAL ADVICE. All of the content comes from REAL parenting experiences either myself or someone close to me have had along with advice for those situations.
You can’t get any better than first-hand advice from those who’ve been there, done that, can you?
What you won't find here is advice on tweens or teens. I haven’t been there yet! However, lots of the advice can apply to all families; especially my section on “Family Matters”.
I do realize that not every child is the same, and not all advice is going to be suitable for your specific situation. But I hope it will give you a place to start.
Ready for some helpful advice? Please consider me the sister you never had, your mother, your grandmother (uh, even thought I'm not old enough to be), or just a good friend.
